Retrofit + New Build
Located in the coastal town of Fishguard, Pembrokeshire, this mixed use commercial development combines a retrofit of an existing high street shop front, with a new build extension to the rear to function as a boutique hotel.
By the Sea
With it’s exposure to the sea air, resilient materials were key to the facade design. Patinated copper was chosen for the palette, which will age gracefully with the wind and rain.
The composition of the extension is sensitive to the existing building, while embracing contemporary and sustainable construction beneath the surface.
Energy Performance
The proposal includes an active technology to its environmental strategy, including a solar PV roof system over the penthouse suites for electricity, and a ASHP as a renewable heat source.
